Register Of Deed’s Office Now Accepting Credit Cards

The Sullivan County Register of Deed’s office is now accepting credit & debit card payments. As of July 1st, 2011, the office is able to process credit and debit transactions from Visa, Mastercard and American Express users. NOTICE OF SCAM AFFECTING NEW PROPERTY OWNERS

Sullivan County, TN, April 8, 2015– The Sullivan County Register of Deeds Office would like to inform the residents of Sullivan County of a scam affecting new property owners across the county. Various companies are soliciting new property owners and offering to sell them information (copy of your deed, etc.) about the property they were just deeded.

Please be aware, should you receive solicitation from an agency stating you can obtain a “copy of your Current Grant Deed and Property Assessment Profile, please detach coupon and return in the enclosed envelope with your processing fee of $83”, DO NOT RESPOND! These documents are available to you for minimal cost directly from the Register of Deeds office.

If you did not receive your original deed after the closing or conveyance, please don’t be alarmed; contact the Register of Deeds Office and we will be happy to assist you. There are other records pertinent to your property such as property tax information, property values etc. that are public record and can be made available to you as well at minimal cost.
